How to Prepare a Water Dose
(Step-by-Step)
Water dosing allows for gentle, flexible repetition of a remedy and is especially helpful for sensitive individuals.
What you will need
• A clean glass bottle (ideally 120–250 ml / 4–8 oz) with a lid
• Spring or filtered water (non-chlorinated is best)
• The homeopathic remedy (pellets or liquid)
Step 1: Prepare the water
Fill the bottle about ¾ full with spring or filtered water.
Leave some air space at the top — this is important for succussion (shaking).
Step 3: Succuss before each dose
Before every dose, firmly tap or shake the bottle 5–10 times against your hand or a firm surface.
This slightly alters the dose each time and helps reduce the risk of aggravation.
Storage & Duration
• Keep the bottle away from heat, sunlight, strong smells, and electronics
• A water dose typically stays fresh for 3-5 days in the refrigerator
• If it becomes cloudy or develops an odor, discard and prepare a new one
Step 2: Add the remedy
Add 1–3 pellets of the prescribed remedy into the water.
Let the pellets dissolve completely (this may take a minute or two).
Step 4: Take the dose
• Take 1 teaspoon, or as advised
• For infants or very sensitive individuals, even a small sip may be sufficient
Optional:
Preserving the Water Dose
To extend shelf life, you may add 1 teaspoon of alcohol (vodka or brandy) to the bottle.
This is helpful when the remedy will be used over several days.
